MBNA are a US company with a fantastic reputation as the worlds largest independent issuer of credit cards. Their arrival in the UK signalled the start of the massive competition in the UK credit card market and brought about the low interest rate credit cards we have today.
So what is the current product like? Well the MBNA Platinum Plus credit card is an excellent product, The main attraction is the 0% introductory rate on balance transfers fixed until September 2009 - One of the longest introductory rates around. The standard rate is a very competitive 15.9% APR. MBNA also offer 0% on any cash you transfer into your current account until November 2008.
The MBNA credit card also has some great added value features; There is no annual fee, they guarantee no liability when the card is used fraudulently when you use the card on the Internet and you can manage your account 24 hrs a day, 7 days a week via the internet, although you still get a statement through the post and a 24hr customer service line.
