Best Credit Cards For Rewards and Cashback
Are you able to pay off your full credit card balance every month? If so you probably find most credit card comparisons a bit meaningless when most of them are concerned with APR and Balance Transfers when these variables is totally irrelevant when you pay your balance of each month and don't get charged interest anyway.
If you find yourself in this fortunate category, your best credit card might be a cash back or reward card. These cards offer a reward to the user and usually incentivise the card owner to use the card more so that the card provider may make more money from the retailers.
The Cashback and Reward cards generally function the same way; the more you spend the more cash you get back or the more points accumulate in your reward scheme. The reward points can then be redeemed against whatever offers the card issuer makes available. Schemes can include Airmile Rewards, Fuel Rewards, Retailer rewards (Nectar and Tesco schemes), Gift rewards and many other reward options. Suffice to say that you should find a reward that is right for you.
Note that cashback cards are usually promoted for their rewards and hide the fact that a negative balance may be quite costly. So, if you carry a negative balance occasionally these cards may not be for you. You may want to look at our list of best Credit Cards for lowest rates.
The reward cards are hard to compare as they vary enormously in terms of points earned and how these can be redeemed, however, below are some prominent cash back cards which offer the best reward schemes.
