Visa Credit Cards

Visa credit cards are the most widely distributed credit card in the world. Visa credit cards are also the leader in the retail consumer credit card industry. Originally a brand  owned by Bank of America, a group of marketing executives, launched a consumer credit card and convinced senior management to send out 60,000 unsolicited credit cards to a select group of Bank of America clients.

So in 1956 grandfather of the Visa brand, BankAmerica Card was launched and there was no looking back. Fast forward to present day, and Visa credit cards have become more of a household name than it's counterpart of  American Express Credit Cards.

Initially all the Visa Credit Cards  were owned and issued by Bank of America, eventually Bank of America began to licensee the rights to use the Visa brand and to issue cards to other banks, but the Visa brand was restricted to the Bank of America technology and processing.

Over time, Visa became a free standing corporation and slowly moved away from the licensing and issuing of credit cards and became the processor and the technology hub for all Visa transactions. Today Visa credit cards offer a wide range of credit card deals for singles, couples, families and businesses - both large and small.

If Visa credit cards are not the brand that you want to use, suitable options are Mastercard Credit Cards and American Express of which both offer the same credit card deals.
